finger user@host works from any machine, no login needed.

tilde.town bundles its tools behind one launcher. town help or town menu lists everything; town aup shows the acceptable use policy.

• bb: bashblog. bb post to write, bb rebuild to regenerate, blog/.config for settings
• alpine: mail client for the ~/.mail/ maildir (mutt and mail also installed)
• weechat, irssi, byobu: chat and sessions
• chfn, finger: finger fields and .plan files
• weather <city>: local weather report

Minimal: publishing is just files in directories.

• irssi, byobu: IRC and persistent sessions
• finger: serves .plan, .project, and public_gemini/.finger
• mail, mutt, alpine: mail clients
• Publish gemini: write .gmi files into public_gemini/
• Publish gopher: edit public_gopher/index.gph

Note the NetBSD paths: packages are installed in /usr/pkg/bin (pkgsrc), so paths differ from the linux hosts.

Publishing means editing files directly: ~/html is served at bren.sdf.org, ~/gopher goes out over the gopher server.
