EtherCalc is a real-time collaborative spreadsheet: the spreadsheet counterpart to Etherpad. Anyone with a room URL can view and edit; no account required. It runs as a single workerd container with built-in persistence, no external database needed.

• Room index disabled (ETHERCALC_DISABLE_ROOM_INDEX=1) so rooms can't be enumerated

State persists to the folkzone_ethercalc_data Docker volume mounted at /data. The container runs with a read-only root filesystem and no-new-privileges per upstream's hardening recommendations (writable /tmp is provided via tmpfs).

Deployed for the Pillowfort Archival Initiative (2026-10-23) after they asked about spreadsheet functionality on pad.folk.zone.
